Shippo's connection with WooCommerce works much like it does with other stores - we import your order details, and when you create a label in Shippo, we update the fulfillment status in WooCommerce, and send the tracking number. Unlike other stores, WooCommerce does not have a specific field for the tracking number, so we enter it in the "Order Notes" section of each order. When you change an address in WooCommerce, that change will be synced to Shippo. If you change the order status in WooCommerce, we will update that on the Shippo side as well.
Connecting your Shippo account to your WooCommerce store is easy - there are only a couple of steps involved:
1 - Go to the "Connect" page in Shippo, and click "Edit" next to WooCoomerce
2 - Enter your store name and URL, then click "Connect with WooCommerce"
3 - You'll be taken to a page within WooCommerce, where you'll need to approve the permissions Shippo needs to operate (import your orders, send back tracking numbers, etc.).
4 - Once you approve the connection, you'll be taken back to your Orders page in Shippo, where you'll now see your WooCommerce orders!
If you do run into an error, and your store cannot be connected, there could be several reasons.
1 - Your URL is incorrect (if it's not a real WooCommerce store, if it's not the base URL and has things added like /admin, if it's misspelled, etc.)
2 - Your WooCommerce plugin is not updated to the latest version. It must be version 2.4 or higher to work with Shippo.
3 - You don't have the REST API enabled in your WooCommerce plugin. Within your Wordpress admin, go to the WooCommerce section, click Settings, go to the API tab and make sure "Enable the REST API" is checked. If you don't have an API tab, you need to upgrade your WooCommerce plugin - Shippo works with version 2.4.10 and higher.
4 - Your "permalinks" in Wordpress are set up incorrectly. Go to your Wordpress settings and click Permalinks, and make sure it's set to "Post Name." You can only use Shippo if your permalinks are set to "Post Name."
